Facilitating the Transition into Adulthood
Our Services
-
Medical Care Transitions
Auturity assists with the transition from a pediatric primary care doctor to an empathetic adult primary care provider, by partnering with medical professionals that are sensitive to the needs of autistic adults. Our medical transition program will handle a wide range of health components, including medical and dental health, mental and behavioral health, weight management, and access to adaptive and therapeutic exercise programs as desired.
-
Legal Transitions
Auturity partners with Attorneys and financial service providers and organizations to offer families assistance with daunting processes such as guardianship, social security disability, NOW/COMP waivers, special needs trust, conservatorship and (ST)ABLE accounts.
-
Workforce Transitions
Auturity partners with a range of organizations to provide access to employment opportunities for autistic adults that have completed high school and/or post-secondary education and possess the desire to seek gainful employment. Our organization serves as the connector between agencies and organizations that employ Autism-Friendly workplaces with autistic adults that are ready and able to join the workforce.
-
Education Advocacy
Auturity’s education and advocacy efforts are two-fold, as they involve both parents/caregivers and teachers/school systems. Our organization will partner with school districts, focusing on those with higher rates of autistic student enrollment and we will seek out parents in these school districts who may need additional support as their children enter transition age (14). Next, staff will be available to assist these parents/caregivers in articulating their needs and ensuring that those needs are reflected in their young adult's IEP, offering virtual services as a viable option.
-
Independent Living
Auturity partners with organizations, group home providers, and private community residential care providers to provide adults with Autism housing resources and assistance in locating quality, safe, and affordable housing so that they can live independently.
-
Autism Unity in the Community
Auturity’s ‘Autism Unity in the Community’ social program is a series of monthly community-collaborative social events held in counties throughout Georgia. Because autism impacts the entire family, this three-part event supports the entire family - parents/caregiver, the autistic individual, and their siblings, transforming it into a memorable family occasion.
